MEET CHARLOTTE, A LEVEL 4
MEMBER OF FLOCK
Each week, we are shining a light on one of the brilliant people who make up FLOCK. Our members come from all walks of life, with different backgrounds, goals, and levels of experience, and that is exactly what makes this trail running community so special.
Tell us your name and a little about yourself?
Hello, I’m Charlotte. I am very lucky to have always taken part in lots of different sports from a young age and so I have an eclectic mix of sporting background, mainly involving water sports, horse sport and mountain sports, but basically if it’s outdoors and adventurous then I’m in! I like to challenge myself physically and mentally.
How long have you been trail running with us?
I started running with FLOCK at the beginning of April 2026.
What is your running background?
Before FLOCK I didn’t consider myself a runner. I used running as a tool for cardio fitness to help compliment my other sports. Although, as a kid, I have fond memories of orienteering with my dad who was a keen runner.
How did you feel before your first FLOCK run?
I was nervous but excited.
What has been your biggest challenge so far in your running journey?
Allowing myself to start easy and not worry about anything other than putting one foot in front of the other.
What are you most proud of since joining FLOCK?
Signing up, joining in, and running for the sheer joy of running. I’m really enjoying taking it day by day with zero expectation on how fast or how far I can run.
How has your confidence changed over time on the trails?
I now call myself a runner! And every hill I get to the top of gives me more confidence and proof that I can do it again.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of our trail running community?
Everyone looks out for each other. It’s not a race. Some days you need someone to cheer you up the hills, and other days you’re the one cheering others up the hills.
Do you have a favourite trail running memory, route, or moment?
Kingley Vale sunset run just after having attended Sam’s power breathing workshop where I put my newly learned skills to the test. What a difference. And the view from the top was spectacular.
