A NEW KIND OF TRAIL CHALLENGE (WITH ACTUAL TREASURE)
This July, we’re turning the South Downs into a real-life treasure hunt.
Introducing Pirate Treasure Trails — a members-only FLOCK challenge running from 1–31 July. It’s part trail running, part adventure mission, and 100% designed to get you exploring new paths with a grin on your face.
What is Pirate Treasure Trails?
When you join the challenge, you’ll unlock a private page with 4 secret trail routes ranging from 5K to 8K. Hidden on each route is a pot of pirate treasure — a jar of pirate coins.
Your mission is simple:
- Choose a route, download the GPX file or Cheat Sheet PDF
- Follow the trail
- Find the treasure
Run them one at a time across the month or go full pirate and attempt the Full Plunder — all four routes in one day.
How it works (nice and simple)
- Register for the challenge (£20)
- We’ll email you manually with access details for the private route page
- Pick your route(s) and head out on the hunt — solo or with a pirate buddy
- When you find a treasure pot, snap a photo (no spoilers!) and re-hide it exactly as you found it
How do I locate the treasure?
When you register you will gain password protected access to a new run section on our website. The page includes the four trails: Bronze Cob Trail, Silver Cob Trail, Golden Doubloons Trail, and The Pieces of Eight Trail. Four runs ranging from 5K – 8K.
Each run description includes a link to GPX file and for those ‘old skool’ pirates that are tech free a Pirate Cheat Sheet. This PDF includes What3words link where your run challenge starts, an image of the trail you start on, a map of the entire route, and image of the tree where the treasure is located.

We’re keeping it fun, but we’re also rewarding the pirates who complete the quest.

The No-Spoilers Code
A huge part of the fun is the mystery — so we’ve got one golden rule:
- Share the moment, not the location
- When you post your treasure photo in WhatsApp or on social, please don’t include: what3words, map screenshots, detailed hints that give the hiding spot away
